Steps to Prepare Your Skin Before Waxing

Number 1. Exfoliate: Begin preparing your skin a day or two before your wax appointment by exfoliating. This removes dead skin cells and helps prevent ingrown hairs. Use a gentle exfoliating scrub or mitt and lightly massage it over the waxing area. Avoid harsh exfoliation as it can irritate the skin.

Number 2. Moisturise: Keep your skin hydrated in the days leading up to your wax appointment. However, avoid applying moisturiser on the day of your waxing session as it can create a barrier between the wax and your hair, making it less effective.

Number 3. Hair Length: Typically, hair should be about 1cm long for best results. If it’s too short, the wax won’t be able to grip it properly; if it’s too long, it might be more painful.

Number 4. Clean Skin: On the day of your appointment, ensure your skin is clean and free from oils, lotions, and sweat. Cleansing the area with a gentle cleanser before your appointment will help the wax adhere better to your hair.

Number 5: Avoid Retinol:  If possible, avoid using Retinol and Retinoids for a week prior to a waxing treatment to prevent grazing or lifting of the skin.
